Who we are
VSC Britain (Vaddukoddai Sports Club UK) is a volunteer-run community sports and cultural club. We run this website and app for our members and community. What we collect — only when you give it to us
- Membership and registrations — name, phone, e-mail, address, date of birth and payment method when you join, register for an event or a team.
- Kalai Vizha "we're coming" replies — name, phone, how many adults and children, and your area.
- Volunteering, lifts, photos, condolences, voice recordings and notices you choose to send us, with the name and contact you add.
- Club contact list — committee members keep members' names and WhatsApp numbers to send event invitations, reminders and thank-you messages. Reply STOP to any message and you will not be messaged again.
- Member logins (archive, writers, memorial fund) — your name and a PIN, which is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form.
- Committee logins — the e-mail address of admins who sign in with Google or e-mail.
How we use it
- To run the club: memberships, events, entry at the door, invitations and club news.
- To contact you about what you signed up for.
- Public pages show only what is meant to be public (news, events, approved photos and notices). Phone numbers, e-mails, addresses and PINs are kept in a private area that only signed-in committee admins can open.
Where it is stored
Information is stored securely with Google Firebase (Google Cloud), protected by access rules so that private details can only be read by authorised club admins. News headlines and sports scores shown in the app come from public news feeds; tapping one opens the publisher's own website.Checking your name (vscgb.com/check-name)
You can check and correct the name and title we hold for you. We send a one-time code by text message to prove the number is yours (Google Firebase phone sign-in). After that you see only the record(s) saved with your own number, and you can change only your title and name; the change goes straight onto the club's members list. The club may also send you a private "check your name" link on WhatsApp, which opens only your own record.Wedding Connections (திருமண இணைப்பு)
Notices are posted without an account and must not contain names, photos or contact details. A reply to a notice is encrypted on the sender's own device, and only the person holding that notice's private link can open it — the club committee cannot read replies. If a notice is reported, the committee sees only the notice number and the reason, and may take the notice down. Notices disappear from the website after six months or when their owner closes them. Only adults (18+) may post or reply.How long we keep it
We keep membership records while you are a member and for club accounts as required by law. Event information (such as Kalai Vizha replies) is deleted after the event season. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.Your rights
